As an alternative to traditional braces for teens or adults, our Wayne cosmetic dentist, Ross Lesser, DMD, is certified to use ClearCorrect aligners in order to straighten teeth. Much like other clear aligner brands, such as Invisalign, ClearCorrect uses a series of clear, removable, custom-made aligners that gradually move your teeth a little bit at a time. These aligners ultimately correct your teeth and smile, producing a new, revitalized look.
The process starts with our Wayne cosmetic dentist sending all of your records, including impressions, photographs and radiographs, along with a prescription for your custom-made aligners, to the ClearCorrect lab. This is where a precise 3-D model of your teeth will be created and your ClearCorrect team maps out a total treatment plan. This treatment plan will show the gradual realignment that will reposition your teeth from their current position to where Dr. Lesser feels they should be. After treatment planning, a computerized image of your teeth, before and after treatment, is available for your viewing. You will receive this image by email and respond with your approval or any requests for adjustments that you feel are needed. Using the most up-to-date digital mapping and state-of-the-art molding technology, your custom ClearCorrect aligners are then created with computer precision.
The treatment plan for ClearCorrect aligners involves four phases of therapy. Each phase of therapy with our Wayne cosmetic dentist requires a new set of aligners that are worn for a three-week period. The period of time between each phase allows for control and flexibility. ClearCorrect aligners should be worn all the time, except for flossing, brushing, eating, and drinking. Designed with aesthetics in mind, ClearCorrect aligners are barely noticeable and won’t have any major impact on your daily routine. You will see the results after wearing each aligner set, because your teeth begin to adjust slowly and align to your desired smile. Periodic check-ups with our Wayne cosmetic dentist are necessary so your progress can be evaluated and you can be given the next set of aligners. Treatment time can vary from one to two years, depending upon your specific condition and amount of misalignment, but the sequence of appointments will continue until you have achieved your new, ClearCorrect smile.
